ACTIVE WELLNESS CENTER AT REED’S CROSSING MEMBER FAQS

Active Wellness Center at Reed’s Crossing will close permanently, effective July 31, 2025, at 9pm.

To ensure a smooth transition for all of our members, please reference the below FAQ’s to help address any membership questions that may come up during this time.

Q: Why is the Active Wellness Center at Reed’s Crossing club closing?
A: This difficult decision was made by Providence as part of its work to streamline its portfolio of health services across the Oregon region.

Q: How does this affect my membership? Will I be charged again?
A: Your membership will automatically expire on July 31st, 2025. Depending on your monthly billing date, your membership dues will be prorated so that charges will only apply through July 31st. If your membership is currently on a hold/freeze, your hold fee will be prorated, and the membership will expire on July 31st, 2025. If a membership cancellation request was submitted between June 1st – June 30th, your membership will expire 30-days from the date we received your cancellation notification.

Q: Can I cancel my membership prior to July 31st?
A: All memberships are subject to the 30-day cancellation policy, outlined in your membership agreement. Therefore, cancellation requests after July 1st will not be necessary or accepted.

Q: What is happening with the staff at Active at Reed’s Crossing after the closure?
A: We want to express our deep gratitude to the Active at Reed’s Crossing team, for their role in helping to create the incredible community that has grown within these walls. We are immensely proud of their commitment and service in helping so many members create positive changes in their lives. We are currently in conversation with Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club to host a job fair for the Active at Reed’s Crossing staff. We hope some of our staff will find a home with HFAC. Some of our instructors and trainers may continue offering services independently or end up at different fitness center locations in the community. Wherever the next step in their journey takes them, we appreciate and thank them for their time with us.

Q: What is happening to the fitness center space after July 31st?
A: The fitness center will not be purchased or operated by a new fitness/gym operator. Providence will be converting and utilizing the space as part of their Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy programs, dedicating the entire building to patient services, with no public fitness offering.

Q: What is happening to the pools after July 31st?
A: At this time, Active Wellness does not have any further information from Providence regarding the pools. The information we have as of today is the pools will be closed to members and general public access after July 31st.
